Altice is the second largest operator in France of telecom fiber and mobile networks and distributor of telecom services
In a few years, Altice/Numericable has become the second largest telecom operator in France. The group was established in 2002 with the acquisition of Estvidéo, a small regional cable operator, and then expanded through the successive acquisitions of almost all French cable operators before continuing to expand its service offering with the acquisition of Completel, which specializes in corporate telecom services, and SFR.
Pechel, which invested alongside Patrick Drahi in 2002 when Estvidéo was taken over, supported the Altice group in all its developments, in particular during the takeovers of Coditel, Numericable, Noos and Completel and until the group's IPO in 2014 after the takeover of SFR.
